Tatooine Card Scene

What's new? I've finally branched into alcohol markers. I picked up some cheap ones (Ohuhu Brand - 80 ct.) off Amazon to see how much I like them before I make the leap to Copic. I've also came across Kindred Stamps from searching Etsy for Star Wars stamps and found 3 sets of Galactic Heros (I'm in love!) I've had a lot of fun experimenting with coloring the characters. There are a bunch of pop culture stamps I really want but will have to pace myself...

Tatooine scene - I tried to make it as accurate as possible with the double setting suns. I just sponged some yellow ink onto some light yellow paper for the small sun. I used some yellow and pink ink on cream paper for the large sun. I quickly used some varying sized circle punches.
For the card base I used some cream paper and for the desert dunes I sponged some "Hello Honey" Stampin Up ink. I created a rolling hill template out of a clear plastic sheet I have for shaker cards (.007 thickness). This was the first time I did this and I made 6 cards bases at once. I should have paid close attention to the template and made sure there was no ink seeping under the the back side. I have some smudges that I could have prevented.
I used the same template to mark and cut the curve for the bottom of the building. I used a speech bubble from a Lawn Fawn "A Birdie Told Me" set with the die and a Lawn Fawn "Lift the Flap Stitched Door" for the droids to hide behind.

I'm happy with the finished product. I plan on putting a birthday sentiment on the inside (that is mostly what I give out). I'll probably use the Lawn Fawn "Out of this World" set - Hope your birthday is out of this world, for the inside.

I hope you love it as much as I do :)

3 Chairs for You!

Here is my card from the May card exchanged.  I took a few different design ideas off of some other pinspiration cards plus used some of my own flair.

I tried to create an interesting background with the embossed polkadot and chevron. I was testing out a few different characters and ended up deciding on the bird. (I almost did a gnome standing on a chair or a cat) I incorporated some ribbon and string to add some dimension.
I think it turned out pretty cute!

Here is the pinspiration I worked from:

Birthday Cards - Bass

Here is the bass card I created using the same idea as the previous post with the pheasant, moose, and quail stamps. I think it turned out great! I'll be giving these babies out to all those fishermen/women in my life. :-)

Mr & Mrs Card

A friend found this cute idea on Pinterest to do for her wedding thank you's. I tried to recreate it with materials I have and I think it turned out just as cute as the original.
The mustache is a punch and the lips are a stamp I had. (Since making this card I have picked up a smaller stamp of lips.) I popped the mustache and lips with dimensional stickers. The "Mr. & Mrs." are from an alphabet stamp set I had.

I was thinking of making this card to be used for a wedding gift. I would put a "congratulations" of some sort on the inside.

If you're a card maker I suggest looking at the materials you have and try making your own rendition with what you already have. Maybe a beer glass and a martini glass instead of lips and a mustache... Get creative.

Thanks for doin' it with me!

lawn fawn catalog challenge - Spring Chicken Card

Lawn fawn is doing their annual contest for paper crafts made with their stamps. The contest ends tomorrow December 9th so I'm cutting it close. I might cut it closer tomorrow with another card...

Happy Birthday Card - Yeti

I participate in a card exchange with a group of women from central Minnesota. We had 17 ladies participating this year. We do 4 exchanges a year and here is the card that I made for the fall/winter card exchange. I LOVE winter so it's the perfect exchange to make a winter themed card!
